DAILY WIRD
A wird is a short reading habit an individual regularly repeats. This seven-day plan builds a daily wird piece by piece rather than all at once: the morning wird starts with Al-Fatihah and Ayat al-Kursi, and on the second day Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas (the Three Quls) are added, bringing it to five readings. The third day introduces a brief midday reflection (tafakkur) on a single verse, separate from morning and evening. The fourth and fifth days build the evening wird: Surah Al-Mulk, followed by the last two verses of Al-Baqarah and a short dua. On the sixth day, the learned morning and evening wirds are practiced together. The seventh day closes with a weekly review, connecting to the opening verses of Surah Al-Kahf if it falls on a Friday. This plan is for building a personal reading habit; it promises no specific outcome — the goal is to establish a small, sustainable daily rhythm. Your progress through the plan is saved in your browser; you can continue from whichever day you like.

Day 1
Morning Wird — Al-Fatihah and Ayat al-Kursi
Starting the day with Al-Fatihah, then reciting Ayat al-Kursi, forms the core of the morning wird. Today, read just these two — we'll build on it tomorrow.

Adding to the Morning Wird — The Three Quls
Add Surahs Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas (the Three Quls) to yesterday's morning wird. Your morning wird is now: Al-Fatihah, Ayat al-Kursi, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas — five short readings.

Midday Reflection
Beyond the morning and evening, try slowly reading a single verse in the middle of the day and reflecting on it for a few minutes. Today's reflection verse is a short, direct reminder of the purpose of creation.

Evening Wird — Surah Al-Mulk
The first part of the evening wird is Surah Al-Mulk — authentic hadith narrations describe reciting it before sleep as virtuous. Today, listen to or read the entire surah.

Adding to the Evening Wird — Amana ar-Rasulu and a Short Dua
Add the last two verses of Al-Baqarah (Amana ar-Rasulu) to Surah Al-Mulk, then close your evening wird with a short dua. Your evening wird is now: Al-Mulk + Amana ar-Rasulu + dua.
Listen to Surah Al-BaqarahDay 6
Practice the Full Wird Together
Today, practice the morning wird (Al-Fatihah, Ayat al-Kursi, the Three Quls) and the evening wird (Al-Mulk, Amana ar-Rasulu, dua) back-to-back on the same day. Choose any verse you like for midday reflection.
Listen to Surah Al-FatihahDay 7
Weekly Review — The Friday and Al-Kahf Connection
If today is Friday, add the opening verses of Surah Al-Kahf to your weekly wird — reading Al-Kahf on Fridays is mentioned in the narrations. Close out the week by reviewing the morning-evening wird you've built over six days: which parts have become second nature, and which still need a reminder?
