101

قُلِ ٱنظُرُوا۟ مَاذَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَا تُغْنِى ٱلْءَايَٰتُ وَٱلنُّذُرُ عَن قَوْمٍۢ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Say, "Observe what is in the heavens and the earth." But of no avail will be signs or warners to a people who do not believe.

فِى(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwāti
وَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthwal-arḍi
وَمَاBut notwamā
تُغْنِىwill availtugh'nī
ٱلْءَايَٰتُthe Signsl-āyātu
وَٱلنُّذُرُand the warnerswal-nudhuru
عَنtoʿan
قَوْمٍۢa peopleqawmin
لَّا(who do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَbelieveyu'minūna
102

فَهَلْ يَنتَظِرُونَ إِلَّا مِثْلَ أَيَّامِ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوْا۟ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ قُلْ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

So do they wait except for like [what occurred in] the days of those who passed on before them? Say, "Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait."

قُلْSayqul
فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟Then waitfa-intaẓirū
إِنِّىindeed, I (am)innī
مَعَكُمwith youmaʿakum
مِّنَamongmina
ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَthe ones who waitl-muntaẓirīna
103

ثُمَّ نُنَجِّى رُسُلَنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نُنجِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Then We will save Our messengers and those who have believed. Thus, it is an obligation upon Us that We save the believers.542

نُنَجِّىWe will savenunajjī
رُسُلَنَاOur Messengersrusulanā
وَٱلَّذِينَand those whowa-alladhīna
ءَامَنُوا۟believeāmanū
كَذَٰلِكَThuskadhālika
حَقًّا(it is) an obligationḥaqqan
عَلَيْنَاupon Usʿalaynā
نُنجِ(that) We savenunji
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersl-mu'minīna
104

قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِى شَكٍّۢ مِّن دِينِى فَلَآ أَعْبُدُ ٱلَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنْ أَعْبُدُ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ ۖ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Say, [O Muḥammad], "O people, if you are in doubt as to my religion - then I do not worship those which you worship besides Allāh; but I worship Allāh, who causes your death. And I have been commanded to be of the believers

يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO mankindyāayyuhā
ٱلنَّاسُO mankindl-nāsu
إِنIfin
كُنتُمْyou arekuntum
فِىin
شَكٍّۢdoubtshakkin
مِّنofmin
دِينِىmy religiondīnī
فَلَآthen notfalā
أَعْبُدُI worshipaʿbudu
ٱلَّذِينَthose whomalladhīna
تَعْبُدُونَyou worshiptaʿbudūna
مِنbesides Allahmin
دُونِbesides Allahdūni
ٱللَّهِbesides Allahl-lahi
وَلَٰكِنْbutwalākin
أَعْبُدُI worshipaʿbudu
ٱللَّهَAllahl-laha
ٱلَّذِىthe One Whoalladhī
يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْcauses you to dieyatawaffākum
وَأُمِرْتُAnd I am commandedwa-umir'tu
أَنْthatan
أَكُونَI beakūna
مِنَofmina
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersl-mu'minīna
105

وَأَنْ أَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًۭا وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

And [commanded], 'Direct your face [i.e., self] toward the religion, inclining to truth, and never be of those who associate others with Allāh;

أَقِمْDirectaqim
وَجْهَكَyour facewajhaka
لِلدِّينِto the religionlilddīni
حَنِيفًۭاuprightḥanīfan
وَلَاand (do) notwalā
تَكُونَنَّbetakūnanna
مِنَofmina
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَthe polytheistsl-mush'rikīna
106

وَلَا تَدْعُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكَ وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ ۖ فَإِن فَعَلْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذًۭا مِّنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

And do not invoke543 besides Allāh that which neither benefits you nor harms you, for if you did, then indeed you would be of the wrongdoers.'"544

فَإِنBut iffa-in
فَعَلْتَyou did sofaʿalta
فَإِنَّكَindeed, youfa-innaka
إِذًۭاthen (will be)idhan
مِّنَofmina
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīna
107

وَإِن يَمْسَسْكَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّۢ فَلَا كَاشِفَ لَهُۥٓ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ وَإِن يُرِدْكَ بِخَيْرٍۢ فَلَا رَآدَّ لِفَضْلِهِۦ ۚ يُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

And if Allāh should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

بِضُرٍّۢwith adversitybiḍurrin
فَلَا(there is) nofalā
كَاشِفَremoverkāshifa
لَهُۥٓof itlahu
إِلَّاexceptillā
هُوَHimhuwa
وَإِنand ifwa-in
يُرِدْكَHe intends for youyurid'ka
بِخَيْرٍۢany goodbikhayrin
فَلَاthen (there is) nofalā
رَآدَّrepellerrādda
لِفَضْلِهِۦ(of) His Bountylifaḍlihi
يُصِيبُHe causes it to reachyuṣību
بِهِۦHe causes it to reachbihi
مَنwhomman
يَشَآءُHe willsyashāu
مِنْofmin
عِبَادِهِۦHis slavesʿibādihi
وَهُوَAnd Hewahuwa
ٱلْغَفُورُ(is) the Oft-Forgivingl-ghafūru
ٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmu
108

قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَكُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ فَمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِى لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا ۖ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ عَلَيْكُم بِوَكِيلٍۢ

Say, "O mankind, the truth has come to you from your Lord, so whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul, and whoever goes astray only goes astray [in violation] against it. And I am not over you a manager."

يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO mankindyāayyuhā
ٱلنَّاسُO mankindl-nāsu
قَدْVerilyqad
جَآءَكُمُhas come to youjāakumu
ٱلْحَقُّthe truthl-ḥaqu
مِنfrommin
رَّبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikum
فَمَنِSo whoeverfamani
ٱهْتَدَىٰ(is) guidedih'tadā
فَإِنَّمَاthen onlyfa-innamā
يَهْتَدِى(he is) guidedyahtadī
لِنَفْسِهِۦfor his soullinafsihi
وَمَنand whoeverwaman
ضَلَّgoes astrayḍalla
فَإِنَّمَاthen onlyfa-innamā
يَضِلُّhe straysyaḍillu
عَلَيْهَاagainst itʿalayhā
وَمَآAnd I am notwamā
أَنَا۠And I am notanā
عَلَيْكُمover youʿalaykum
بِوَكِيلٍۢa guardianbiwakīlin
109

وَٱتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَٱصْبِرْ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ

And follow what is revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and be patient until Allāh will judge. And He is the best of judges.

وَٱتَّبِعْAnd followwa-ittabiʿ
مَاwhat
يُوحَىٰٓis revealedyūḥā
إِلَيْكَto youilayka
وَٱصْبِرْand be patientwa-iṣ'bir
حَتَّىٰuntilḥattā
يَحْكُمَAllah gives judgmentyaḥkuma
ٱللَّهُAllah gives judgmentl-lahu
وَهُوَAnd Hewahuwa
خَيْرُ(is) the Bestkhayru
ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ(of) the Judgesl-ḥākimīna
