صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

English Translation
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned [Your] anger or of those who are astray.

Sirata l-ladhina an'amta 'alayhim ghayri l-maghdubi 'alayhim wa la d-dallin
Context in This Surah
A continuing request for guidance — verses 6-7
The surah ends by asking for a path, not merely an idea. Guidance is connected with a way of living under divine favor and with avoiding recognized error. The request remains relevant every time it is made.
