O Prophet, when you [Muslims] divorce women, divorce them for [the commencement of] their waiting period and keep count of the waiting period,1697 and fear Allāh, your Lord. Do not turn them out of their [husbands'] houses, nor should they [themselves] leave [during that period] unless they are committing a clear immorality. And those are the limits [set by] Allāh. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allāh has certainly wronged himself. You know not; perhaps Allāh will bring about after that a [different] matter.1698

And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or part with them according to acceptable terms. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the acceptance of] Allāh. That is instructed to whoever should believe in Allāh and the Last Day. About This Surah
Surah At-Talaq regulates aspects of divorce with attention to timing, waiting periods, witnesses, housing, pregnancy and financial responsibility. It repeatedly calls for mindfulness and trust in God, but its promises of a way out and provision must not be turned into guaranteed financial marketing. Personal cases require qualified legal advice.
The opening addresses divorce procedure and counting the waiting period. Women are not to be expelled from their homes during the period except under a specified serious circumstance. These rules have detailed jurisprudential interpretation and cannot be implemented from an English summary.
The chapter repeatedly warns people not to transgress divine limits. As a waiting period reaches its end, the choice is to retain honorably or separate honorably, with witnesses.
A well-known passage says that whoever remains mindful of God will receive a way out and provision from where they do not expect, and that trust in God is sufficient. This is spiritual reassurance within a legal and ethical chapter. It does not guarantee immediate employment, wealth or the desired legal result.
Waiting periods for different circumstances are discussed, including pregnancy. Housing should correspond to means, and women should not be harmed to pressure them. If they nurse, compensation and consultation are addressed.
Financial responsibility is proportional: a person of means spends according to means, and a person with restricted provision spends from what God has given. No person is burdened beyond what they have been given.
The chapter closes with historical warning and references to revelation as light.
Divorce timing, waiting periods, witnesses, housing, pregnancy, nursing, maintenance, and hardship are legal matters requiring verified facts and qualified jurisdiction-aware advice. The promises that God makes a way out and provides unexpectedly for the God-conscious offer hope within obedience; they are not guaranteed money formulas or reasons to remain in danger. No spouse may use the surah to control, evict, impoverish, or trap another.
