SURAH AT-TARIQ

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
By the sky and the knocker
Verse page →وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
And what can make you know what is the knocker?
Verse page →ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
It is the piercing star[1901].
Verse page →إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌۭ
There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.
Verse page →فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
So let man observe from what he was created.
Verse page →خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍۢ دَافِقٍۢ
He was created from a fluid, ejected,
Verse page →يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.
Verse page →إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌۭ
Indeed, He [i.e., Allāh], to return him [to life], is Able.
Verse page →يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
The Day when secrets will be put on trial,[1902]
Verse page →فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍۢ وَلَا نَاصِرٍۢ
Then he [i.e., man] will have no power or any helper.
Verse page →وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ
By the sky which sends back[1903]
Verse page →وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ
And [by] the earth which splits,[1904]
Verse page →إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌۭ فَصْلٌۭ
Indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is a decisive statement,
Verse page →وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ
And it is not amusement.
Verse page →إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا
Indeed, they are planning a plan,
Verse page →وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًۭا
But I am planning a plan.
Verse page →فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.[1905]
